Behaviour
Our outstanding behaviour in school is achieved by our whole school Positive Behaviour System and the excellent team work between our pastoral team and teaching staff.
All children are expected to follow our Golden Rules:
- We are kind and polite
- We take care of all property
- We listen carefully and follow instructions
- We are honest and truthful
- We respect everyone
Golden time
We reward good behaviour with ‘Golden time,’ the children really enjoy it and there are many different activities available for the children to do at the end of the week. These include:
- Sports
- Cooking
- Arts and crafts
- Bikes and scooter riding
- Time in the sensory room
- Time in the soft play and ball pit
- Cinema in the classroom
- Computer time
To be able to take part in golden time the children are given daily points, if they are reminded about behaviour they will lose golden points however they also get the chance to earn them and become star of the week. If they get the required points or above for the week they can take part in ‘Golden Time’ and the activity they have chosen.
Star of the week
At Burnt Ash we celebrate our behaviour stars! If your child is star of the week, they will have a special mention in assembly, be allowed to choose their favourite activity first, be displayed outside the classroom and be recognised at the end of the year with a special certificate.
Golden Globes
To encourage all of our children to work together and to reward excellent behaviour around school we have a ‘Golden Globe’ scheme.
The children, as a class, can earn golden globes from other teachers who spot their outstanding behaviour. When the class fill their ‘Golden Globe’ jar, they can choose a class activity to do together. These have included:
- Own clothes day or pyjama days
- A picnic in the park
- Bike or scooter time
- A class party
